How is SPLIT powered?
The rechargeable battery is built into the Bluetooth speaker module. When the modules are connected, this battery powers both the speaker and CD player.
When separated, the speaker can run on its battery. The CD player module has no built-in battery and must be connected to a USB-C power source (DC 5 V / 1 A).
How do I charge SPLIT?
Use the included USB-C cable with a USB power adapter that supplies DC 5 V / 1 A. A USB power adapter is not included.
When the modules are connected, either module's USB-C port can charge the speaker battery. When separated, connect the cable to the speaker module's USB-C port to charge its battery. Connecting power to the separated CD player does not charge the speaker.
When the battery is low, the display flashes “LO”. The speaker's charging indicator is red while charging and turns off when fully charged.
How do I adjust the volume when using headphones?
SPLIT starts at a reduced volume when wired or Bluetooth headphones are connected. Use the volume + and − buttons on the CD player module to adjust headphone volume.
The speaker's volume knob controls only its own speaker output, not the connected headphones or external Bluetooth audio device.
How should I stop playback before changing a CD?
Before changing a CD, press and hold the Play/Pause button until the disc stops. This stops playback and clears the previous disc's playback memory. Then replace the disc.
A short press only pauses playback and retains the previous CD's cached information. If you change discs while paused, the new CD's track count or time display may not match correctly.
How long does the battery last?
On a full charge at medium volume, the Bluetooth speaker provides approximately 6 hours of playback when used alone, or approximately 4 hours when connected to the CD player for CD playback.
